Screening Services

The Hawthorn Drive Surgery offer screenings at the practice - you don’t have to have the tests, but they’re a good idea as they help identify health conditions quickly so you can start treatment early.

Cervical Smears

All women 25-65 years of age, will be offered a cervical smear test as per the government guidelines. A reminder will be sent to make an appointment, usually with the Practice Nurse.

You will be informed of your test result by post 6-8 weeks after the test.

Breast Screening

All women between 50 to 64 years of age will be called for breast screening on a 3 yearly basis. The Breast Screening department telephone number at the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust is 01473 703343 if you have any queries.
